In a series LCR circuit, the resistance is 10 \(\Omega\) and the impedance is 20 \(\Omega\). The phase difference between the current and the voltage is

Correct answer: 60°

Solution

For a series LCR circuit, \(\cos\phi = R/Z\). Here \(R=10\,\Omega\) and \(Z=20\,\Omega\), so \(\cos\phi=1/2\). Therefore \(\phi=60^\circ\).
