In an LCR series AC circuit, the voltage across each of the components L, C and R is 50 V. The voltage across the LC combination will be:

Solution

In a series LCR circuit, the voltages across L and C are 180° out of phase. If each has magnitude 50 V, they cancel each other in phasor form, so the net voltage across the LC combination is zero.
