A person starts walking from point F towards the west. After walking 27 m, he reaches point D. From point D, he takes a left turn and walks 20 m to reach point C. He then turns right and walks 27 m to reach point B. From point B, he takes a right turn and walks 10 m to reach point A. In which direction is the final point A with respect to point F?

Solution
Starting from F, moving west 27 m reaches D. A left turn from west means south, so C is 20 m south of D; then a right turn from south means west, so B is 27 m west of C; finally a right turn from west means north, so A is 10 m north of B. Overall, A lies west and south of F, so it is south-west of F.
