ExamsIBPS POReasoning

Aman starts from point A and goes 10 m east to reach point B. He then takes a right turn and goes 8 m to reach point C. From C, he takes a right turn and travels 6 m to point D. After reaching there, he takes a left turn and walks 8 m to reach point E. He then takes a left turn and walks 6 m to finally reach point F. What is the direction of point D with respect to point B?

  1. North
  2. South
  3. Northwest
  4. Southwest

Correct answer: Southwest

Solution

Let A be the origin. B is 10 m east of A. From B, a right turn from east means south, so C is 8 m south of B. From C, a right turn from south means west, so D is 6 m west of C. Thus D is west and south of B, i.e. southwest.
