If \(\log 27 = 1.431\), then the value of \(\log 9\) is:
- 0.934
- 0.945
- 0.954
- 0.958
Correct answer: 0.954
Solution
Since \(27=3^3\), we have \(\log 27 = 3\log 3 = 1.431\). So \(\log 3 = 1.431/3 = 0.477\). Then \(\log 9 = \log(3^2)=2\log 3 = 2\times 0.477 = 0.954\).
