The force acting on a charged particle kept between the plates of a charged condenser is $F$. If one plate of the condenser is removed, then the force acting on the same particle will become

Solution

Between two oppositely charged parallel plates, the electric field is the sum of the fields due to both plates. If one plate is removed, the field at the particle becomes half of the original value, so the force $F=qE$ also becomes half. Therefore the new force is $F/2$.
