S was born in an odd number year. The difference between the present age of S and V is 5. Only 3 people were born between V and T. The present age of W is twice the present age of Q. As many people were born between T and Q as between T and P. R was born in one of the years before P. (Calculate all ages with respect to the year 2018). What will be the age of S after 4 years?
- 60
- 59
- 61
- 62
Correct answer: 61
Solution
Ages (2018): 73,62,57,45,40,29,22,11. W=2Q: W=22, Q=11. S in odd year, |S-V|=5. S=57(1961), V=62(1956). 3 between V and T: V is 2nd oldest → T is 6th (age=29,born 1989). T-Q: between T(rank6) and Q(rank8) = 1 person. Between T(6) and P = 1 → P at rank 4 or 8. Q=rank8, P=rank4(age=45). R before P(1973): R=73(1945). A=40(1978). S age in 2018=57. After 4 years: 57+4=61.
