Reem went 8 m towards east from her house, then she took a right turn and walked 6 m. Then she went 14 m towards her left. From there, she took two consecutive left turns of 17 m and 10 m respectively and reached her office. If a cafe is 11 m south of Reem's office, then what is the shortest distance between Reem's house and the cafe?

Correct answer: 12 m
Solution
By tracking Reem's movements, the office can be located relative to the house. Then the cafe is placed 11 m south of the office, and the shortest distance from the house to the cafe comes out to 12 m.
