A cricketer has an average of 48 after 20 innings. He scores 240 runs in the next few innings, and his average becomes 40. Find the total number of innings played.

Solution
Initial runs = 20 × 48 = 960. After scoring 240 more runs, total runs become 1200. If the new average is 40, then total innings = 1200 ÷ 40 = 30.
