If 20% of \(P\) = 15% of \(Q\) = 12% of \(R\), find \(P:Q:R\).
- 3: 4: 5
- 5: 4: 3
- 15: 20: 12
- 4: 5: 6
Correct answer: 3: 4: 5
Solution
Let the common value be \(k\). Then \(P=\frac{k}{0.20}\), \(Q=\frac{k}{0.15}\), and \(R=\frac{k}{0.12}\). This gives \(P:Q:R = \frac{1}{0.20}:\frac{1}{0.15}:\frac{1}{0.12} = 5:\frac{20}{3}:\frac{25}{3} = 15:20:25 = 3:4:5\).
