The cost of an orange and a banana are in the ratio 3 : 2. If the combined price of one orange and one banana is Rs. 75, what is the price of the orange?

Solution

Let orange price = 3x and banana price = 2x. Their sum is 5x = 75, so x = 15. Orange price = 3 x 15 = Rs. 45.
