A factory P produced 15,000 units in 2021 and 12,750 units in 2022. Factory Q produced 40,000 units in 2021 and 36,000 units in 2022. If X is the percentage decrease in output of P and Y is the percentage decrease in output of Q from 2021 to 2022, find X : Y.

Solution
X = (15000-12750)/15000 x 100 = 2250/15000 x 100 = 15%. Y = (40000-36000)/40000 x 100 = 4000/40000 x 100 = 10%. X:Y = 15:10 = 3:2.
