If sin^2(theta) - 3 sin(theta) + 2 = 0, find the value of theta for 0 degrees <= theta <= 90 degrees.

Solution

Factorising: (sin theta - 1)(sin theta - 2) = 0. sin theta = 2 is impossible (max value is 1). sin theta = 1 gives theta = 90 degrees.
