The average age of a father and his daughter is 55 years and their ages are in the ratio 7:4 respectively. What will be the ratio of their ages 6 years from now?

Solution

Sum = 110. Father = 110 x 7/11 = 70, daughter = 110 x 4/11 = 40. After 6 years: 76 and 46. Ratio = 76:46 = 38:23.
