A building has 4 square pyramidal turrets, each with a base side of 4 m and a height of 6 m. If each turret requires 1.25 times its volume in structural fill material, what total volume of fill is needed?

1. 160 m^3

Correct answer: 160 m^3

Solution

Each pyramid's volume = (1/3) x (4 x 4) x 6 = 32 m^3. For four turrets that is 128 m^3, and 1.25 times this is 160 m^3.
