A decorative box is shaped like a right pyramid with a square base of side 15 cm and a height of 16 cm. Because of inner padding, it can be filled to only 80% of its total volume. If the filling material costs Rs 0.25 per cm^3, what is the cost of filling one box?

Correct answer: Rs 240

Solution

Volume of the pyramid = (1/3)*15^2*16 = 1200 cm^3. Filling 80% gives 960 cm^3, and at Rs 0.25 per cm^3 the cost is 960 * 0.25 = Rs 240.
