One sector of a circle subtends 90 degrees at the centre with radius 6 cm. A second sector of the same circle subtends an angle of pi/2 radians. What is the ratio of the areas of the first sector to the second?

Correct answer: 1 : 1

Solution

Since pi/2 radians = 90 degrees, both sectors subtend the same angle at the centre of the same circle. Equal angles and equal radii mean equal areas, so the ratio is 1:1.
