Red, blue and green balls are present in the ratio 2 : 3 : 5. If 15 red, 10 blue and some unknown number of green balls are added so that the new ratio becomes 3 : 4 : 6, how many green balls were added?

Solution

From (2k+15)/(3k+10) = 3/4 we get k = 30, so originals are 60, 90, 150. For the green ratio 6 to hold, green must stay 150, meaning 0 balls were added.
