The metre bridge shown is in balance position with P/Q = l₁/l₂. If we now interchange the position of galvanometer and cell, will the bridge work? If yes, what will be balance condition?

Solution

Interchanging the galvanometer and cell does not affect the working of the metre bridge because the principle of Wheatstone bridge remains valid. The balance condition remains the same, P/Q = l₁/l₂.
