A, B and C are voltmeters of resistance R, 1.5 R and 3 R respectively as shown in the figure. When some potential difference is applied between X and Y, the voltmeter readings are Vₐ, Vᵦ and V꜀ respectively. Then

Solution

Since all voltmeters are connected in parallel across the same potential difference (X and Y), they will all measure the same voltage regardless of their internal resistances. Thus, Vₐ = Vᵦ = V꜀.
