Two bullets are fired horizontally and simultaneously towards each other from roof tops of two buildings 100 m apart of same height of 200 m, with the same velocity of 25 m/s. When and where will the two bullets collide? (g = 10 m/s²)

2. After 2 s at a height of 180 m
3. After 2 s at a height of 20 m
4. After 4 s at a height of 20 m

Solution

The bullets are fired horizontally with the same velocity and will experience the same vertical acceleration due to gravity. They will collide after 2 seconds, as their horizontal motion brings them together, and their vertical displacement due to gravity will be 20 m from the initial height of 200 m.
