Correct answer: 2.5

Solution

The frictional force is given by f = μmg = 0.5 × 10 × 10 = 50 N. The net force is F_net = 100 - 50 = 50 N. Using Newton's second law, acceleration a = F_net/m = 50/10 = 5 m/s².
