A uniform electric field and a uniform magnetic field are acting along the same direction in a certain region. If an electron is projected along the direction of the fields with a certain velocity then

Solution

For an electron moving along the common direction of E and B, the magnetic force is zero because v is parallel to B. The electric force on an electron is opposite to E, so if it is projected along the field direction, the force opposes its motion and its speed decreases.
