Passage: There are seven persons: Manav, Rohan, Amit, Harsh, Rajat, Mohit, and Sumit. Harsh got more marks than Manav and less marks than Rohan. Rohan did not get the highest marks. Amit got more marks than only Sumit and Rajat. Rajat got the least marks. The second-lowest person got 45 marks. How many persons got fewer marks than Mohit?

Solution

Rajat is the least, and Amit is above only Sumit and Rajat, so Amit is third from the bottom. Harsh is above Manav and below Rohan, and Rohan is not highest, which helps place the remaining persons. The only arrangement consistent with all clues puts Mohit at the top, so six persons are below him.
