Seven boys P, Q, R, S, T, U and V have different weights. V is heavier than Q. P is heavier than only three people. Q is heavier than P. T is heavier than R. U is heavier than R. U is heavier than R but lighter than Q. How many boys are there between Q and T?
- Three
- One
- More than three
- Two
Correct answer: Three
Solution
P is heavier than only three people, so P is 4th from the lightest. Since Q is heavier than P and U is heavier than R but lighter than Q, Q must be above U and R. Using T heavier than R and the remaining placements, Q and T end up with three boys between them.
