ExamsIBPS POGeneral Awareness

Ten different sweets are kept on different shelves. Only five sweets are kept between Balu shahi and Modak, and Modak is not kept on the lowermost shelf. Only two sweets are kept between Kalakand and Sandesh, and Sandesh is kept immediately above Modak. Imarti is kept immediately below Bahi. Petha is kept immediately below Kalakand. Rabri is kept above Kheer but below Basundi, which is not kept on the topmost shelf. Peda is kept equidistant from Imarti and Kheer. Kalakand is kept below Balu shahi but not on the lowermost shelf. Balu shahi is above Modak. Which sweet is kept on the topmost shelf?

  1. Modak
  2. Balu shahi
  3. Basundi
  4. Kheer

Correct answer: Balu shahi

Solution

Using the given relations, Modak must be below Sandesh, and Kalakand must be two sweets away from Sandesh. Also, Balu shahi is above Modak and Kalakand is below Balu shahi. These constraints force Balu shahi to occupy the topmost shelf.
