ExamsIBPS POGeneral Awareness

A starts a taxi service by investing ₹25 lakhs. After 3 months, B joins the business by investing ₹40 lakhs. Four months after B joins, C also joins by investing ₹50 lakhs. One year after A started the business, they make a profit of ₹2,73,000. What is C's share of the profit?

  1. ₹1,00,000
  2. ₹75,000
  3. ₹1,25,000
  4. ₹1,50,000

Correct answer: ₹75,000

Solution

Profit is divided in the ratio of capital × time. A, B, and C invest for 12, 9, and 5 months respectively, so their shares are proportional to 25×12, 40×9, and 50×5. This gives the ratio 300:360:250, and C's share comes to ₹75,000.
