The Maxwell bridge shown in the figure is balanced. The parameters of the inductive coil are

Correct answer: \(R=\dfrac{R_2R_3}{R_4},\; L=C_4R_3R_1\)

Solution

In a Maxwell bridge, balance is obtained by equating the product of opposite arms. Separating the resistive and reactive parts gives the coil resistance \(R=\dfrac{R_2R_3}{R_4}\) and inductance \(L=C_4R_3R_1\).
