If \(A:B = 3:4\), \(B:C = 6:7\), and \(C:D = 14:15\), what is the ratio \(A:D\)?

Solution

From \(A:B=3:4\) and \(B:C=6:7\), make \(B\) common to get \(A:B:C = 9:12:14\). With \(C:D=14:15\), we get \(A:B:C:D = 9:12:14:15\). Therefore, \(A:D = 9:15 = 3:5\).
