In a row of students, R is 10th from the left and S is 12th from the right. If they interchange positions, R becomes 14th from the left. What is the total number of students?
- 23
- 24
- 25
- 26
Correct answer: 25
Solution
After interchange, R occupies S's original position and becomes 14th from the left. So S was originally 14th from the left. Since S is also 12th from the right, total students = 14 + 12 - 1 = 25.
