Current versus voltage for a metallic conductor is plotted at two temperatures T1 and T2. The graph at T1 has a larger slope (lower resistance) than that at T2. Which relation between the temperatures is correct?

Solution

A steeper I-V line means lower resistance; since metal resistance rises with temperature, the steeper (T1) line is at the lower temperature, so T1 < T2.
