A conductor has resistance 5 ohm at 50 deg C and 6 ohm at 100 deg C. What is its resistance at 0 deg C?

Correct answer: 4 ohm

Solution

From the two temperature equations, R0(1+50a)=5 and R0(1+100a)=6; solving gives R0 = 4 ohm.
