In a frequency distribution, the mean is 21 and the median is 22. Using the empirical relationship between mean, median, and mode, find the mode.
- (A) 19
- (B) 20
- (C) 23
- (D) 24
Correct answer: (D) 24
Solution
The empirical relation Mode = 3 * Median - 2 * Mean gives Mode = 3(22) - 2(21) = 66 - 42 = 24.
