If it is possible to make only one meaningful English word with the sixth, seventh and eighth letters of the word REACTION, which of the following will be the second letter of that word? If no such word can be made, give 'X' as the answer, and if more than one such word can be made, give 'Y' as the answer.
- N
- I
- O
- Y
Correct answer: Y
Solution
The 6th, 7th, and 8th letters of REACTION are I, O, and N. More than one meaningful word can be formed from these letters, such as 'ion' and 'noi' is not meaningful, so the condition for a unique word is not met. Hence the answer is Y.
