Eight persons P, Q, R, S, T, U, V and X live in a four-storey building such that the ground floor is numbered 1, the floor above it is numbered 2, and the topmost floor is numbered 4. Each floor has two flats, Flat 1 and Flat 2. Flat 1 of floor 2 is immediately above Flat 1 of floor 1 and immediately below Flat 1 of floor 3, and similarly for Flat 2. Flat 1 is to the west of Flat 2. Two floors gap between S and R. S lives to the west of U. One floor gap between P and R, who lives to the south-east of P. One floor gap between Q and T. X lives to the north-east of T. Four of the following five are alike in a certain way and so form a group. Find the one who does not belong to that group.

Solution
In the final arrangement, S-U, V-X, and T-R each fit a similar positional relation pattern, while P-T does not match that pattern. Therefore, P-T is the odd one out. This is a floor-and-flat arrangement with directional clues.
