ExamsIBPS POReasoning

Study the following information carefully and answer the related question: Ten persons sit in two parallel rows containing five persons in each row. A, B, C, D, and E sit in row 1 and face north, while P, Q, R, S, and T sit in row 2 and face south. Persons in both rows face each other. P sits third to the left of Q. The one who faces Q sits second to the left of B. One person sits between B and E. R faces C, who sits just left of E. S does not face B or A. Who among the following sits opposite to D?

  1. P
  2. Q
  3. R
  4. S

Correct answer: S

Solution

Using the clues, the two rows can be arranged uniquely. C is just left of E in row 1, and R faces C. Also, the person facing Q sits second to the left of B, which fixes the remaining positions. After completing the arrangement, D is opposite S.
