ExamsIBPS POReasoning

There are ten persons sitting in two parallel rows in such a manner that five persons—P, Q, R, S, and T—are sitting in Row 1 facing south, and five persons—A, B, C, D, and E—are sitting in Row 2 facing north, such that all persons in both rows face each other. Q is sitting at one of the ends of the row. A is sitting opposite to the right of Q. A and D are immediate neighbours of each other, and D is second to the right of E. S is third to the left of R and is not a neighbour of T. R is opposite B. Who is sitting opposite to E?

  1. P
  2. R
  3. T
  4. S

Correct answer: T

Solution

Using the facing directions, Q at an end and A opposite to the right of Q fixes one end pairing. Then D being second to the right of E and adjacent to A determines the arrangement of A, D, and E. Applying S third to the left of R and R opposite B leaves T opposite E.
